Korea Institute of Drug Safety and Risk Management (KIDS) is very pleased to invite you to the ' KIDS-APEC Pharmacovigilance CoE Training' which will be held online September 5-6, .
The ' KIDS-APEC Pharmacovigilance CoE Training' is a part of activities of the APEC Regulatory Harmonization Steering Committee (RHSC) Roadmap to promote the regulatory convergence on pharmacovigilance.
KIDS was established to enhance quality of public health through prevention and early recognition of drug related issues. As a public institution managing drug safety, KIDS supports evidence-based decisions by promoting adverse drug event reports, assessing drug safety information, performing causality assessments, disseminating safety information and providing education to the healthcare professionals as well as the public.
KIDS aims to train experts from regulatory authorities and government-affiliated institutions of the APEC region. The program intends to deepen participants' understanding and problem solving skills through lectures and hands-on exercises. KIDS was endorsed by the APEC RHSC to conduct the APEC Pharmacovigilance CoE Pilot Program in 2016, and was designated as the formal host institution in 2017. After the designation, KIDS continues to conduct the program every year.
The primary goals of ' KIDS-APEC Pharmacovigilance CoE Training'
- Facilitate understanding of the current pharmacovigilance activities in different APEC regions and beyond ;
- Implement effective measures and system to promote global public health ; and
- Strengthen pharmacovigilance capacity of regulatory and public bodies, and build capacity to improve pharmacovigilance system.
